Hey friends, welcome to another Saturday post. This one is a little bittersweet for me, because my current way of life is ending. That sounds way more ominous than it actually is, I promise.
For about a year now, Will has worked Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. It’s nice having a similar schedule, but it all ends come Monday. Will’s going to be working 12 pm to 9 pm every day except Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sure, it stinks a bit, but in reality, this is great for me. Besides, Will works from home–it’s not like we’ll never see each other again.
I didn’t realize how much I wouldn’t get done if Will was around. I felt I needed to spend time with Will, which meant sitting and watching Netflix most of the time thanks to the pandemic. Sure, I tried to work while Will was off, but either I got really distracted or I felt guilty for not spending time with Will.
I’ll be able to work on evenings and weekends again and not feel guilty. I might actually get through editing a manuscript. I might have better blog posts. I might actually get our home clean!
As much as I love spending time with Will, it’s not productive towards my goals. Will knows this and agrees with me. All we ever want to do anymore is sit and watch terrible ghost hunting shows and make fun of them. That’s not going to help me get my writing done, no matter how much I call it “research.”
Soon enough, I’ll be back to my vanilla lattes and my headphones, hopefully cranking away at everything again. Stay tuned to see what happens!
