Hey friends! It’s another Saturday, so here’s another post!
I know lately I’ve been talking about how tired I am all the time, and I wanted to give a little insight. Those of you who know me know this, but writing is not my full time job. I work in real estate title, and I’ve been with my current company about four and a half years.
Back in February or March, someone in our office quit, and some of her duties were redistributed across the office, including to me. Two weeks ago, I emailed my boss asking to be considered for the open position.
Well, friends, I just finished my first week in the job.
Now, it’s most likely a trial basis—I’m treating it as such, anyway—so it may not be permanent, but I’m learning a lot and I’m really enjoying it.
Prior to this week, I was working late hours. There were some 14 hour work days in there. As a result, in April I didn’t finish any books towards my book challenge, and I had to stop working on Camp NaNo about a week in.
Hopefully with this new position, I’ll have something a little less unpredictable. I know I’ve at least consumed way more water in this week than I have in a very long time, partly because I feel like I have the time and ability to both drink it and step away to go to the restroom.
So what does this mean for my writing? Regarding the blog, probably nothing. I need to get back in the habit of writing after work and on weekends, but I don’t see that as a problem either. My book challenge might suffer, but in the grand scheme of things I’m not too worried.
But hey, great news all around, and I’ll update you soon if I have any more great news.
