Happy New Year, friends! Welcome to 2020.

(Side note, I tried to find a video clip of the 20/20 opening that wasn’t complete garbage, and I didn’t find it, sorry. Enjoy the blurry.)

Last night Will and I had our traditional watching of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and we cooked an awesome meal. Everyone makes resolutions at this time of year, but I decided I’m going to make goals instead. Here they are, in all their glory! Well, ok, not glory. You know what I mean.

Drink more water.

After all, if I drink more water, the coffee can’t kill me, right? In all seriousness, I don’t drink enough water. I had a big jug I used to drink from, but I kept forgetting to fill it the night before so I got off that habit. I was doing really well, too! I need to get back on it.

Read 30 books.

This one won’t be a problem, I don’t think. I read 45 books in 2019. I got a lot of books for Christmas, so I’ve got plenty to go on! I don’t think this will be a difficult goal this year.

Finish edits for a damn book.

Ok, maybe not finish, but get a draft or two done. I mean, once I get my blog posts for the week done there’s time to do it, right? Maybe? We’ll see. I need to make more time for it, at least.

Get my book reviews for the podcast done (or maybe a little ahead of schedule?).

12 book reviews might not sound like much, but when I have to write some that read for 6-10 minutes, that’s a lot to me, especially when I can’t give a complete plot summary. Granted, I looked back at my review for the Uglies series for the podcast, and it clocked in at 1222 words, which I can totally do. I have to read the book first, and fantasy and sci-fi gets hefty sometimes. Those will have to be my main books, I guess. The first ones I read this year. After that, I can focus on others. Any and all book suggestions are welcome!

Try to get healthier.

Yeah, yeah, everyone tries to “lose weight.” But I’m not talking about that, necessarily. I’d love that, honestly. I mean trying to have healthier habits. Cooking healthier foods, not reaching for drive thru when I’m really tired, things like that. I love finding great healthy recipes, so if you have any, send them my way!
