Whew! The holidays are finally over (thank goodness!), so now is a great time for me to take stock of my work. With how hectic things have been, I’m hopeful to just stop and breathe.

Have you ever been curious about how long it takes me to do certain things? How does everything work? It’s a huge juggling act, and honestly I’m tired. I’m going to keep on going, though. This is what my week usually looks like:

Monday: work 8:30-5, then come home and work or just veg out on the couch if it’s been a rough day
Tuesday: work 8:30-5, come home, eat dinner, run to the adult Christian Formation class I help with
Wednesday: work 8:30-5, go straight up to church for Youth Group (I’m a youth minister, too)
Thursday: work 8:30-5, come home and work or veg (but I don’t veg if I didn’t work on Monday)
Friday: work 8:30-5, come home and relax. This is my mandatory day of rest.
Saturday: meet Rosario and Macie at bookstore, work from 9-4ish, come home and get ready for game night. We also do our weekly lunch prep between when we both get home from working and before we have to leave for game night.
Sunday: attempt to get all chores done, work, watch the new episode of Doctor Who (if possible), later on veg out on the couch and start praying that things will calm down the next week. They never do.

To top it all off, my husband wants us to start getting up early to work out before work, because I’m so busy after I get home from work and he has his schoolwork, too. At least he (usually) has dinner started or ready when I come home. Oh, and I also have my reading to do both for my book challenge and the Geekerati podcast, which thankfully can overlap.

Anyway, with the holidays over, I’ll be able to get back on track. I got off the rails when December rolled around, and that’s ok. It’s just time to check in and see where there’s work to be done.

With my first manuscript, I’ve started reading through and marking up. I tried to do this in the car on our way to a cousin’s wedding shower but that turned out to be a terrible idea. I need to be able to just sit down and review it, mark it up, and then once I’m done with that, make all the changes on the computer. Then repeat until I’m happy with the results. I’ll need some beta readers, and then after a few rounds of that I’ll query. To get there though, I need to just get through the manuscript.

On my second manuscript, I’m ashamed to say all I’ve done is print it out and clip it together. I need to go through and split up sections and rearrange them. Once I have it in order, I’ll be able to work on editing and adding. I’ll need to add roughly 25,000 words to my manuscript, which I should be able to do, not easily, but better once I have everything in order.

I’m also looking into possible things I could do with my KoFi page. I’m considering adding a subscription feature with exclusive subscriber content, but I’m not sure what, exactly, would entice you into subscribing. SO, if you want to weigh in on that, I’m all ears!

I’ve put all my other projects on the backburner, but I’m probably going to get the short story anthology going again soon. I have 8 stories in various stages, and I need two more. TWO MORE.

I’m busy, that’s certain. Time to get to work.
