This blog post is my 100th (!!!!), and I won’t lie, I’ve learned so much about myself and my writing.
The first thing I’ve learned is that, if a lot of people know I’m doing something, I’m more likely going to bring the task to completion. It’s embarrassing to say I’m going to do something, and then not do it. It’s embarrassing to say I’ve failed. Telling all of you that I’m going to do something is a fantastic motivator.
I’ve also learned that the way I write on here is not how I want to write for my books and stories. I have a very different voice on here than in my book. I get the feeling that if you read my book, you’d wonder where the fun, bubbly person I am on here went. I’ve learned how to differentiate my tone to fit whatever I’m working on, which was difficult for me in the past.
Most importantly, though, I’ve learned that I CAN do this. All of this used to just be a dream to me, and I don’t know what it was–staring at 30 in the face or the fact that I was just tired of waiting for “the right moment” to come around, but here we are. I made the right moment come to me, and while it’s incredibly difficult at times, I know I can push through.
Finally, I’ve learned just how many people are in my cheering section. I’m often stunned by the level of support I get from people. From my close friends and family all the way to the baristas who make my Saturday morning vanilla lattes, you are all appreciated more than you could ever know.
So here’s to 100 more posts, each hopefully more interesting than the next!
